Prototyping with Augmented Reality(AR) technology
Now that the boundaries between the virtual world and the real world are blurring. How might we prototype applications using augmented reality to add, transform, or remove from the reality?
INTRO
BIKE HERO is an Augmented Reality bike game in the urban city where all types of bike riders can contribute by playing to expand their virtual team territory
MISSION
BIKE HERO aims to provide a fun biking environment for all types of bike riders to get around in the urban area and, create a collaborative biking culture for new and existing bike riders.
HOW IT WORKS
The inspiration came from the legendary game ‘PACMAN’. The idea of expanding territory as you collect points. As the player rides a bike through a certain path to the destination, the player collects star points with our BIKE HERO app. The team territory will be expanded with the points collected by all of the team members.
EARLY PROTOTYPE
I started with playing around with the AR kit, Vuforia. Collecting coins as you go was the initial idea, however, how might this idea can be implemented at the macro level where people can interact with each other?
