Intro

I was greatly inspired while I was reading the last chapter of “Design of Everyday Things” by Donald Norman. This is an excerpt from a book that drove me to this project.

THE RISE OF THE SMALL

“I dream of the power of individuals, whether alone or in small groups, to unleash their creative spirits, their imaginations, and their talents to develop a wide range of innovation. New technologies promise to make this possible. Now, for the first time in history, individuals can share their ideas, their thoughts and dreams. They can produce their own products, their own services and make these available to anyone in the world. Everyone can be their own master, exercising whatever special talents and interests they may have.”

Hypothesis

In the near future, 3D printing technologies will evolve to produce more complex products at a lower cost. Demand for products made with 3D printers will be increased and the market will also grow.

How would 3D printing technology affect the automotive market, and how would creative individuals interact with the digital marketplace?

Key Learnings

I have created an exciting hypothesis to create new type of service based on technologies with development potential. Through this experience, I learned a lot and improved my workflow and product thinking. During the static prototyping of a website from scratch, I learned basic concepts of html and css. I also learned how to use bootstrap and create my own style guide. Here are some of my key learnings.

Considering the data and content when sitemapping.

It does not matter how good the design is if the data on the page does not match the information.  I could not match all the data and information from the beginning, but I could get the information for the prototype by iterating the research and modification.

Prototyping according to the user scenario.

As the work progressed, there was a lot to think about, so I often lost track of the progress. But a user scenario that is heading in the right direction helps to get back on the track.

Go easy on myself.

Time and resources are limited for every projects. I think it is important to always notice that. It is difficult not to be stressed, but it is not difficult to enjoy.

Thank you for Reading!
